Botswana has announced its move to extend the restriction on imports of fresh produce goods, this as they attempt to be self-sufficient and reducing imports bill. This move will have impact on South African exports, as it was supplying 80% of country’s food before the restriction was placed. According to President Masisi, the ban has yielded positive results as Botswana’s import bill reduced by 71%.
